Katie Lilford

Katie Lilford is a local artist whose stoneware work has been very well received.

“My aim is to encourage people to stop and take pleasure in those simple moments throughout our busy days. Whether that’s when having your mid-morning tea or special dinner gatherings with loved ones, by drawing our focus to the things we use in those moments we can hopefully take stock and enjoy them even more”.

Katie typically leaves the clay raw and unglazed and uses bold patterns on the outside of the pieces to showcase the honest and tactile nature of the material. Clear glaze is used on the inside, so as not to hide the nature of the material, whilst also making the piece functional.
