Sam Peacock

Inspired by rural and coastal landscapes, Sam Peacock has challenged the traditional notion of landscape painting in every aspect of his work. His unique interpretation of landscape painting involves the use of non-traditional oil-based paints, varnishes, coffee grounds, and various other raw materials, all composed on a sheet of steel. His colours, being a major aspect of his work, are inspired by the land itself, with each palette being created from one specific location.

Experimenting with the balance of colour and light on steel over the past 30 years and exchanging the traditional paintbrush for a roller and a blow torch, Sam’s unique take on landscape painting has made him a much sought-after artist.  Notable works can be seen in Islington, the Novotel, and Canary Wharf.  He now works from his studio shop based in Battle, East Sussex.
