Casas
Francisco Casas was born in Alcoy, Spain, in 1952, where he began his studies at the local fine arts school. Casas is a vocational artist, and from an early age felt the need to paint. He predominantly creates still lifes, his favourite subject, in which he masterfully captures a wide range of tones and light, with a hyperrealistic result.
Understanding the profound simplicity behind this movement, Casas paints with great accuracy and skill, choosing modest subjects on a small scale - such as shells or origami - and depicting them in meticulous detail, creating the illusion of a reality that does not quite exist. He has participated in numerous competitions and exhibited widely. His pieces are held in both national and international private collections.
