Casas
Francisco Casas was born in Alcoy, Spain, in 1952, where he began his studies at the local Fine Arts School. Casas is a vocational artist, and from an early age felt the need to paint. His work is focused on still lifes - his favourite subject - in which he masterfully captures a wide range of tones and light, with a hyperrealistic result.
Understanding the profound simplicity behind this movement, Casas paints with great accuracy and skill, choosing modest subjects on a small scale such as shells or origami, and depicting them in meticulous detail, creating the illusion of a reality that does not quite exist. He has participated in numerous competitions and exhibited widely. His pieces are held in both national and international private collections.
